BEECH WOOD TIMBER MANUFACTURER AND EXPORTER
Our saw mill is located in Curtea de Arges, city which lies at 150 km northwest of the capital of Romania, Bucharest. The area that suports the whole production activity covers 170.000 m2.
LOGGING ACTIVITY. THE TRANSPORTATION OF LOGS
Logging activity runs on a yearly base, on at least 7 of the richest beech wood forests that are situated in the south-west part of the country. In this way is insured the raw materials -beech logs-which are transported in the factory with the companie's own trucks, fitted with cranes for wood, with the logs to be ussed for the beach timber production destined for export.
SAWMILL
By ussing the latest german technology,«MÖHRINGER-BRAUN CANALI» for cutting the logs and semiautomated procesing of the resulted timber, we manage to obtain a quality that would satisfy even the most demanding orders.
KILN DRYING ROOMS
We have 9 italian kiln dryings with a total capacity of 670 m3, automatically controlled by a central computer, projected to give the timber, on every thickness available,
the desired humidity :10%, 12%, 14%.
STORING SPACES
For the naturally dried timber, the storing space is uncovered, the final humidity being 24 – 26 %. The storage capacity is 10.000 m3. For the artificially dried timber with a humidity of 10%, 12%, 14%, the storing space is covered, the storage capacity being of 1500m3.
STEAMING ROOMS
The 11 steaming rooms, with a capacity of 22m3 each are ussed to achieve a more uniform and pleasant color for the beech timber, that confers the wood a plasciticy very apreciated especially by the furniture producers. The steaming time can vary from 36 hours to 48 hours, depending on our customers order. To prevent the aparition of the fungus and mould, that happens especially at the beech timber, after the steaming process the timber is chemically treated by antiseptization.
PREPARATION AND SHIPMENT OF PRODUCTS
After a very detailed grading, the quality classes for the timber are established, with the timber being packed in the bundles tied with metalic band. Only for the naturally dried timber with a humidity between 24 – 26% the packs are provided with sticks for ventilation on every row. Both for the air dried timber and for the kiln dried timber one, in each pack there is only a single quality class, a single length, a single thickness and all the range of widths.
